Many times, Invisalign® treatment can actually be faster than traditional braces. And the appointments are much more convenient. No more tightening wires until your eyes bulge. The process works by creating a series of clear aligners that gently move the teeth just tenths of a millimeter at a time. These aligners are changed out every week or two. Most follow-up appointments are a simple check to make sure that the teeth are tracking properly within the aligners. This differs greatly from the “do-it-yourself” clear aligner approach since you will be followed closely every step of the way by our licensed and experienced dentists.

At your initial consultation visit, we will do a thorough examination to make sure that you are a candidate for Invisalign® treatment. It is vitally important that there are no cavities or gum disease present before considering orthodontic treatment. If everything checks out in that regard, then a thorough analysis of the size, shape and arrangement of the teeth and the bite is performed. We also check the temporomandibular joint (jaw joint) and the airway for potential issues. Once that is completed, then, and only then, will we do a preliminary scan of the teeth. The Itero scanner is so advanced, it can actually do a mock-up of your potential finished results within a minute. These results are displayed on the screen in 3D and the mouth can be moved around and viewed from all angles. This scan is sent to Invisalign® over the Internet and a very precise, customized treatment plan is built just for you. At this point, you can even see the individual movements on the 3D screen.
